WHY INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY ?

Globalization is the cry we hear from every country including India. It is of great debate whether it is a boon or a curse. The answer to this question is beyond this paper, but it is a fact that globalization is inevitable. Thus if one has to survive in this competitive market, he has to be highly productive. Also recession in the country necessitates increased productivity. Liberalization and privatization adds oil to this fire. Thus increasing productivity has become the matter of survival rather than betterment. The effect of LPG and recession has not only affected the business segments but also every segment like the employment and agriculture. All these reasons alarms us to increase our productivity. 

WHY MANAGE TIME?

Time is the most precious & yet scarcest resource known to mankind. Capital can be borrowed, land can be leased & labor hired. But one cannot rent, hire, buy, obtain, otherwise more time. Supply of time is totally inelastic. No matter how high the demand, the availability of time will not go up. Time is perishable commodity. It cannot be stored. Yesterday's time is gone & will never come. Time is totally irreparable. We can substitute one recourse for another like iron with plastics, labor with machines etc. But till now to substitute for time, there is no work or activity in this world that can take place without usage of time.
